Who is Cornerstone Home Inspection & Consulting?

Alvin Meschke and Family

"I started in the construction industry in 1989. My becoming a professional inspector was due to people reaching out to me for help or answers. People wanted my knowledge and experience to help them make good decisions. There’s nothing better than getting a call that starts out with, you inspected my mom and dads house and dad said call Al because he will take great care of you."

What we do

Having learned the construction trades from literally the bottom up has taught me more then any book, test or class could. The best teacher is hands on, learning from skilled trades people in all facets of building a house. What I have learned over the years has been put to good use inspecting for people that are wanting to build or buy a house but have no idea where to start. The inspection will include some or all of the following depending on the property. Incoming utilities, foundation, flat work, grading/drainage of property, irrigation systems, structural systems, exterior condition, roof line. windows, electrical systems, plumbing systems, HVAC systems, insulation, ventilation, interior condition, fit and finish of doors, windows, floor coverings, appliance condition, infrared scan of interior wall/ceilings as well as code and safety related items. Some inspections may also include out buildings, water wells, well water testing, septic systems, swimming pools/equipment, outdoor kitchens, whole house generators. Inspection reports are usually available electronically 30 minutes after completing the inspection. My findings will be discussed with the buyer(s) and or their realtor

My Values

Detailed. Honest. Sincere. What drives me in my work is helping people. Potential owners depend on me to help them make sound decisions. Sometimes a persons dream home can be a nightmare just waiting for a new owner. I tell my clients what they need to hear not what they want to hear. There is no such thing as a perfect house, but there is also no reason to buy someone else’s problems.

Buying a house is a stressful, expensive and time-consuming process. I evaluate all aspects of the build, and having the experience and knowledge is a huge benefit for my customers. Telling my clients, the good the bad and the ugly and giving them solutions as well as recommendations makes it easier for the buyer to make good decisions. I feel that over the years my client base has grown so large is due to knowledge and honesty.
